WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO LEARN FROM THIS PROGRAMME?
Storage and warehousing would be extremely simple if you merely stored and despatched full pallets of product. In most cases, however, you first need to break down the unit load before despatching goods. Therefore order picking is perhaps the most critical function in the warehouse, and efficient and accurate order picking will ensure good customer service. Order picking is the process of identifying, selecting, retrieving and accumulating the correct items for a customer’s order.
This learning programme provides the learner with a practical base from which to improve picking operations in a store or warehouse. This includes activities related to a typical picking process, understanding and interpretation of the picking process, picking of stock and movement of stock to loading points. During this whole process it is important to try and prevent stock shrinkages taking place.
